Donation and refund policy

This page covers card gifts made through the donate form on this site, both one-time and monthly.
What your gift pays for
Gifts pay for the rescue work of Rescue Rangers in Almaty, Kazakhstan: food, vet care, vaccinations, spay and neuter surgery, and shelter space. The amounts on the donate form show what a gift of that size can cover. For example, $35 feeds a rescued animal for a month. We put all gifts together and spend them on whatever the animals need that month, so a gift is not tied to the one item listed next to it.
Tax status
Rescue Rangers does not have IRS tax-exempt status at this time, so your gift is not tax-deductible. The Stripe receipt confirms your payment. It is not a tax receipt. We will update this page if our status changes.
Currency
All gifts are charged in US dollars. If your card uses another currency, your bank converts it and may charge its own fee.
One-time gifts
A one-time gift is charged once, right away. Stripe emails you a receipt.
Monthly gifts
A monthly gift is charged on the same date each month as your first gift, until you cancel. You choose $15, $35, $75 or $150 on the donate form. Stripe emails you a receipt after each charge.
How to cancel or change a monthly gift
Email rrangerscorp@gmail.com from the address you used for the gift and tell us you want to stop. We cancel it and confirm by email. If you are charged after you asked us to stop, we refund that charge in full.
To change the amount, cancel the current gift and start a new one at the amount you want, or email us and we will set it up.
Canceling stops future charges. It does not refund past months.
Refunds
If you gave by mistake, for example the wrong amount, a second gift by accident, or a monthly gift you meant to be one-time, email rrangerscorp@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge. We refund it in full to the card you used. Stripe says refunds take 5 to 10 business days to show on your statement.
For any other refund request, email us and tell us what happened. We look at each one.
A charge you don't recognize
Please email us before you contact your bank. Tell us the date and amount, and we will look it up in Stripe and reply. A bank dispute is slower for you and costs the rescue a fee.
